Sex In Public

A 2011 survey by Adam & Eve found that more than half the respondents admitted to having sex in public. Eighty percent chose parked cars, and 55 percent preferred a frolic in the forest, followed by the park, the beach, the office, public restrooms, movie theaters and airplanes. Five percent committed the mortal sin in church while 2 percent opted for a taxi.

Of course, this survey came from a sex-toy maker. A 2006 online survey of 80,000 men and women found that 22 percent acknowledged having sex in public.

A look back at high-profile public sex cases from around the globe in the last decade:

In 2006, Thurston County Deputy Prosecutor William Halstead resigned after he was caught having sex in the women’s bathroom during a Seattle Seahawks game.

In 2008, sex educator and author Yvonne Kristin Fulbright commented on Fox News that the U.S. has more regulations governing sexual behavior than all the European countries combined.

Also in 2008, an Italian couple in Rome were caught having sex in a church confessional box during morning mass (see above survey).

In 2012, an Irishman and a British woman, caught having sex in a taxi in Dubai, were sentenced to three months in prison, fined for public intoxication and scheduled for deportation. The couple had flouted the United Arab Emirates’ strict laws governing moral conduct.

Also in 2012, horrified diners stood by as a couple began having sex on a table at an Irish-themed restaurant in Orlando. This was not the ”live entertainment” the restaurant had advertised on its website.

2013 was a busy year for people getting busy in public view:

The website cruisinggays.com gave the Cape Coral, Florida boardwalk four stars out of five for men looking to meet each other to have sex in public.

A drunk UK couple were jailed for 10 weeks after allowing 40 teenagers to film them having oral sex outside a busy transportation station. A judge called their behavior ”absolutely disgusting.”

During a bicycle cop training, 25 cops found a couple having sex on a bench in 92-degree heat in Upper Darby, Pa.

A newlywed couple who couldn’t wait to consummate their marriage, slipped away from their wedding at a Nebraska park and went at it behind a tree. They were arrested after they refused to stop after being ordered twice by an officer. The bride’s 5-year-old daughter stood nearby with family and friends.

A drunken waitress and her companion were busted for having sex in a pickup truck outside of a Georgia Waffle House. In her haste, the woman mistook a cheeseburger for her sandal, according to the police report.
